Assam Carbon is a 50-year leader in carbon and carbon-related goods. Railway Traction, Cement, Steel, Sugar, Mines, Power, Petrochemical, Chemical Process Industries, etc. use our products. Our plant was commissioned about 50 years ago, and to widen our Grades portfolio, we entered a JV with Morgans from 1972 to 24.05.16. During that time, we imbibed some of the best Technology, Plant & Machinery, and Manufacturing Practices, catapulting us to the leadership position in India and exporting to several countries. Assam Carbon became independent on May 25, 2016, when the current management bought all Morgan shares after Morgans exited the carbon business in India. As per our agreement with Morgans, we have perpetual rights to produce any grades/products for which we've embraced their technical know-how. Assam Carbon has two 350-person plants. Company has diverse product portfolio in Electrical, Mechanical, and speciality Carbons, including Carbon Brushes, Current Collectors, Railways Signaling Contacts, Carbon Seals & Bearings, Carbon Gland Ring,Steam joints, Thrust Pad, Radial bearing, Graphite Felt & Insulations, and other graphite products. The company recently began a large modernization programme at its Guwahati factory to satisfy expanding local and export market quality and volume requirements. This is expected for completion by January 2017, after which a similar programme will be implemented at the Patancheru, Hyderabad Plant.
