Calcutta Stock Exchange

ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) is the oldest stock exchange in Asia that is owned by the government. It is located at the Lyons Range in Kolkata, India. It was started on December 1, 1863, by sixteen of Calcutta's best stockbrokers. They rented space at 11 Strand Road to start their business. It was made into what it is now in 1908, and it is India's second largest stock exchange. SEBI has asked the Calcutta Stock Exchange to leave, but the matter is still being decided by the Calcutta High Court. In the last three years, thirteen other regional stock exchanges have closed because of SEBI's exit policy. These include the Bangalore Stock Exchange, the Hyderabad Stock Exchange, and the Madras Stock Exchange. [3] The CSE trading platform hasn't been used since 2013.
