Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL), founded in 1957, is a leading shipyard on the West Coast of India that is ISO 9001-2015 certified and operates under the administrative control of the Indian Ministry of Defense. GSL is strategically located on the banks of the river Zuari in Goa, a major international tourist destination that is connected to all major shipping lines via its international airport and major port. Beginning as a small barge construction yard, GSL is now recognised as one of the country's most sophisticated shipbuilders. GSL has designed, constructed, and commissioned a wide range of sophisticated vessels for diverse applications in the defence and commercial sectors for over four decades, with particular expertise in the construction of modern patrol vessels with Steel and Aluminum hull structures.
GSL'S inherent strengths are its a An ISO 9001-certified organisation with world-class CAD/CAM capabilities for fundamental design, simulation, and advanced outfitting. It has four Slipways with a maximum weight of 3,000 tonnes and a 180-meter-long Outfitting Jetty are among the state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Implementing ERP for all functions is a distinguishing feature. Steel Preparation Shop for the priming and cutting of steel, aluminium, and non-ferrous plates. A work force of greater than 1,600 skilled personnel and more than 200 qualified engineers and naval architects.
GSL provides a vast array of services to its valued customers, including the design and construction of a variety of vessels, the repair and modernization of vessels, and the transfer of technology.
