Jardines, as the company is affectionately known, has a storied past filled with political change, industrial reconfigurations, and community relations. The story begins in the British India offices of Jardine Skinner & Co. and George Henderson Ltd. Sir John Jardine Patterson's Hong Kong associates were previously involved in the opium trade, among other businesses. George Henderson was a profitable business that owned assets in tea, jute, etc. The oldest of these companies was founded by Britishmen in 1858, who later merged and formed larger corporations. In an effort to create a single asset- and cash-rich firm and to streamline their commercial interests in India, the two companies initiated negotiations.
The two businesses merged in 1946 to form Jardine Henderson Ltd. Around the same time that India was gaining its independence, the British owners of major industries sought Indian employees. The company operates pest control divisions in 14 locations across the country and is the market leader in the majority of them. Jardines is a brand, industrial conglomerate, and entity that is proud of its heritage and staff.
It has created a name that only perseverance can serve well, and its people and team are a large and devoted group that proudly carry its name into expanding markets and socially responsible endeavours.
