Kingfisher Airlines Limited was an Indian-based airline group. It was founded in 2003 and began operating commercially in 2005. It held a 50% stake in the low-cost carrier Kingfisher Red through its parent company, United Breweries Group. Kingfisher Airlines held the second largest share of India's domestic air travel market until December 2011.
It was owned by the United Breweries Group of Bengaluru. On 9 May 2005, the airline began commercial operations with a fleet of four new Airbus A320-200s flying from Mumbai to Delhi. On September 3, 2008, it began international operations by connecting Bengaluru to London. The original location of Kingfisher's headquarters in Mumbai was the Kingfisher House in Vile Parle (East), but it was later relocated to The Qube in Andheri (East). It had its registered office in UB City, Bengaluru.
