The Dutch multinational electronics business Philips has a division called Philips Consumer Lifestyle that makes small appliances and consumer electronics. It is the sole Philips business with its global headquarters in Amsterdam. The headquarters of the Americas division are in Stamford, Connecticut. In 2008, Philips Consumer Electronics and Philips Domestic Appliances and Personal Care merged to establish Philips Consumer Lifestyle. Every CD, DVD, and Blu-ray that is sold generates royalties for Philips.
