Sakthi Sugars Limited was founded in the year 1961, and its Sakthinagar Sugar factory began commercial production in the year 1964. Four sugar plants are currently operating under its umbrella, three of which are in Tamil Nadu at Sakthinagar, Sivaganga, and Modakurichi and one in Orissa at Dhenkanal. One of the biggest manufacturers of sugar in India is Sakthi Sugars Limited, which has a combined capacity of 19,500 Tonnes of cane Crush Per Day (TCD).
