SVSML was established in 1981 and began its commercial operations in 1983 with roughly 7000 spindles of used equipment. With 70032 spindles and 2016 Rotor machines, which are primarily imported, it is currently the most modern facility. To economise on energy costs, the business has constructed a total of 13.35 MW of wind turbine generators to power 80 percent of the units at Rajapalayam.
